You have your own website, your own product or products you are going to make a fortune online selling these products. The first thing you need is traffic to your site. Without traffic you have no customers. The more traffic you generate, the more people see your products. The more eyeballs on your products, the more sales you make. Simple enough to understand.

You can generate traffic to your site by usinig pay or free methods. One pay method is using google adwords or other pay per click advertising such as yahoo or msn. Be sure to do all your homework like keyword research and writing a good ad. You will also need good relevant content on the page that you are sending these potential customers after they click on your ad. Learn all about google adwords before you launch your first campaign. A couple of free methods are article marketing and social websites. Article marketing is just like it sounds. You write articles about your niche and submit them to article directories. The more directories you submit too, the more one way backlinks to your site you will have. These backlinks will help you with your search engine rankings.

Social websites or web 2.0 is when you bookmark your site on a social networking site. A few examples are digg, delicioious, stumble upon and propeller. Just visit these sites, create an account and submit you site. These sites are considered authority sites and have a high page rank. This will also help you with your search engine rankings.

Now that you have all this traffic, you want to make the most money you can per visitor. This means that you make money besides selling your own product. Not everyone will want to buy your product. So offer them something they might want instead.

One method is called "pay-per-click". The best pay-per-click advertising in my opinion is google adsense. You create your free account and place the code on your website. Google then shows ads that match the content on that page. You get paid everytime someone clicks on one of those ads.

Another method of monetizing your traffic are affiliate programs. You become an affilite of a company that is offering something similiar or a product that will enhance your prodcut.

When purchases are made by customers that was generated by your site to their site you get a percentage of that sale. Affiliate programs would give you the benefit of monetizing your traffic without the actual need of carrying or promoting a certain product.

The more targeted traffic you generate, the more money you will make.
