About 8,000 new businesses are opened each day, it may not sound like a lot, but that works out to 2,920,000 businesses per year. And only about 10% of them will be profitable after a year. That means that 90%, or 2,628,000 will NOT be making money after 12 months.

If you are considering establishing a new business, follow these procedures to maximize your chances of success:

Marketing. This is the most important aspect of your business. Marketing is what brings you customers. Customers are what make you money. And money is how you stay in business. There are millions of ways to market your business; you can use paid advertising, free ads, classified ads, articles, forums, email, and a host of other techniques. The key is, you have to use one or more marketing techniques on a daily basis.

Cash flow. Watch your pennies. Keep a careful eye on how much you are spending. Don't make any purchases that you cannot afford. Never buy something with the intent

ion of using next week's sales to pay for it. Whenever you use that technique, you can be sure that next week's sales will drop off and leave you short of funds.

Keep working. You have to realize that your sales figures will not move higher in a straight line. You may even experience periods when you lose money. Keeping working and doing the things that have been making you money. If times get slow, step up your efforts a bit and you will be even more successful when things turn around.

Keep good records. By keeping good records, you will know what is successful and what doesn't work. Put more effort into the things that are working and do less of the stuff that is not working. Many people fail to keep records and. As a result, they have no idea which areas are making them money.
