The Best Way to Get Started in Internet Marketing
The Best Way to Get Started in Internet Marketing
If you want to earn money online I've got a great suggestion for you. Study Internet Marketing a little, learn the vocabulary, and familiarize yourself. Then decide what kind of business you want to be in and really throw yourself into it.
In my experience, when I was first starting to look into this form of sales, things moved too fast for me. I could buy a program for making money on the Internet and it was really too advanced for me! And it claimed to be "perfect for beginners"!
One specific instance I recall was that I joined a program that promised to give me a $1097 free website if I just joined their $49 dollar program. It's amazing what greed will do to your mind. How could I have believed for a moment that I could get $1000 more value than I was paying for?
Plus, the "free" website was dumb looking! Not to mention overexposed and oversold. Of course, that wasn't as much of a proble
m as it might seem. It turns out that over 90% off these "free" websites, 'turnkey money machines" that people pay $49 for would never see the light of day, ie get hosted! Of the ones that DID get a domain name and get hosted, most of these would languish and die due to lack of correct sales presentation and TRAFFIC!
Here's a fact most newcomers to Internet Marketing (IM) can't possibly know. Just because you have a website hosted doesn't mean it has any visitors (traffic = customers.)
Think of it as if you had rented a store on a street. You have to make the outside (look) of the store attractive. You have to have the inside of the store look good, too! And, most crucially, you have to have customers! Traffic that is. Well, actually, traffic is not a customer until they buy something. Traffic that BUYS is a customer. Traffic that doesn't buy is a prospect.
Do not let this complexity deter you. There are far more complex issues down the road. What appears to be overly complex now will seem easy once you are more familiar with the processes required to get your internet sales up and running.
I've said it before, the single most important step a newcomer to online marketing can take is practically the most obvious. It's especially obvious if you start out the wrong way like I did.
The newcomer needs some schooling! That's right. Get familiar with the terminology. See the various ways people make money online. Learn what steps have to be taken and in what order, so that you can succeed at IM. See what skills you have to master before you can make those steps happen. In other words, see the larger picture.
When you have that under your belt you'll be ready pick a direction you think is right for you. That is far better than accepting on blind faith some plan that isn't right for you, isn't it? Yes, a little schooling will help immensely. I am currently in two schools. One would be enough but I find these complimentary. That is, one of the schools is more specific on some topics than the other, but I have to say this....
If you get into one of these, take the orientation classes and the first few lessons very seriously! You'll have a whole new lot of information and you'll know way more than the average newcomer to the Internet Marketing world. Maybe you'll be like me in that you'll find it fascinating!
Here's to your success!
