If you are doing an online business, it will be very important for you to know the difference between prospect and customer. You know that it is important to build your own list if you want to have a successful business. The question that I want to ask you is what kind of list should I build?

To answer this question, you will have to understand that prospects are people who have joined your list irregardless on whether they have purchased the product or not. If you are directing traffic to your opt in page and you offers them a free report etc if they join your list, you will be building a prospect list.

Prospects are people who have already purchase the affiliate products that you have recommended. You would want to build a list of prospects as they are already willing to take out their credit card and purchase the product. This list is

crucial as they are buyers which mean you will be earning from your business.

In most of the affiliate marketing business model, most of the people that join your list will become your prospects first before becoming a customer. You will do your job by giving them good value, building a good relationship with them so that you can convert more prospects into customers.

Thus, the efforts in separating the customers from your prospects list will be beneficial to you as you will have a instant list of buyers whenever you want to promote some affiliate product. Stay focus on getting the prospects, converting them into customers and build a customer list will be the wisest decision that you can make for your online business.
